The recognition behind our screening work. Every camp CFYKF runs feeds the mission that our flagship event, the Dr. M.K. Mani Oration, celebrates each year — honouring India's leading voices in nephrology and kidney care, alongside certificates of appreciation for individuals who've made an outstanding contribution to the cause.

Dr. M.K. Mani pioneered community nephrology in India, dedicating his career to bringing kidney care out of specialist hospitals and into everyday reach for ordinary patients. Every year, CFYKF invites a distinguished voice in nephrology to deliver an oration in his name — carrying his conviction that kidney disease, caught early, is preventable.
Named for the physician who pioneered community nephrology in India, the oration honours individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to kidney care.
Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy — Chairman and Chief of Gastroenterology at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and then President of the World Endoscopy Organisation — delivered the Dr. M.K. Mani Honour Oration on "My Journey: Taking Gastroenterology to the Underserved." CFYKF's citation recognised his ASGE Master Endoscopist Award (2009, the "Nobel Prize of Endoscopy"), over 400 published papers, and the Padma Shri (2002) and Padma Bhushan (2016) conferred on him.
Introduced by Mr. Narendra Paruchuri, Dr. G.N. Rao delivered the Dr. M.K. Mani Oration, followed by an address from Dr. M.K. Mani himself on "Ethics in Medical Practice." The event also felicitated Dr. Ravi Raju and Dr. M.A. Raoof, with Mr. Srinivas Rao, Police Commissioner of Hyderabad, as Chief Guest, and featured a transplant recipient and donor sharing their journey.
Introduced by Mr. Narendra Paruchuri, Dr. Prabhakaran delivered the oration, with Dr. M.K. Mani offering felicitation and an address on ethics in medical practice. The programme also introduced urologist Dr. B.V. Rama Raju, and welcomed Chief Guest Dr. Tarun Joshi, IPS.
Dr. Vivekananda Jha delivered the Dr. M.K. Mani Oration at an Annual Kidney Day that doubled as CFYKF's 15th anniversary celebration, with Dr. Tamilisai Soundarajan, then Governor of Telangana, seated among the distinguished guests. Dr. M.K. Mani felicitated Dr. Jha with a shawl on stage — one of the last large gatherings CFYKF held before pandemic restrictions curtailed public events across the country.
"Awarded in recognition of his outstanding contribution to community service, especially in the field of prevention." The same ceremony also honoured Dr. PVLN Murthy for his yeoman contribution in promoting Urology as a subspecialty across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Certificates were presented by Dr. Rajasekara Chakravarthi M (Trustee) and Paruchuri Narendra (Managing Trustee).
Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Director of its Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Program. Over two decades, Dr. Tata has trained 23 transplant fellows and mentored 120+ general nephrology fellows, pioneered a telemedicine program for transplant patients across Georgia, and helped implement Belatacept as an immunosuppressive option. The Organizing Committee of Transplant Manthan 2025, Renown Clinical Services and Care for Your Kidney Foundation jointly conferred this citation.
The Dr. M.K. Mani Oration celebrates the same mission our field teams pursue year-round — free CKD screening across police stations, schools, hospitals and community halls in Hyderabad.
